I took Sunday off, because General Motors conceived the Trans Am in 6 days, and on the 7th day they rested. Because Union. Or something.

BUT LOOK WHAT I FRIGGIN DID ^

I had to get a nut into the frame via the parking brake pass-though hole since the cage nut that was in there broke off and was removed, and I could only get one finger in so.... I taped the nut to my finger, stuck it in, threaded the bolt in until it caught the nut, and VOI-FREAKIN-LA I have all 6 bolts holding my leaf spring hangers in now.

Ignore how shitty this new bolt makes everything else look

I also found all the shackle nuts loose so I snugged them up too, but the back wheels on, and now it’s ready to get back on the ground and have the front subframe installed.

Oh, and of COURSE because I was playing with the rear end (spinning wheels, checking fluid, adjusting the brakes) the pinion seal started leaking.

On the 7th day, the line workers had a smoke break while the QC manager had a cry.

Thanks for reminding me, I still need to change my diff fluid. That’s going to the bottom of the list though.

Hah! Love it.

Man, i went to my buddies house this last weekend to go work on the Sunbird and man....he had some gems. I’m gonna post a few pictures, because i sort of feel like they’re up your alley.

So this Camaro has apparently been sitting since 1988. Its body is very straight, obviously the vinyl is kinda sad, but the paint is in decent condition other than the one spot on the quarter panel. Its a manual.

He also had this thing out and let me trundle around in it on his property. Holy crap, i’m kind of in love. I think it came with a 304, but it currently has a 360 in it and my friend actually had a 401 he was going to swap in there, which begs the question, just how many cubes can you have while still making less than 200 hp? Anyway i really want it.

Lastly, he picked this up for....and i’m not kidding...$500. So maybe we’ll add another car to our lemons team at some point. Something...actually fast.
